The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
