Robot vacuums and mops have become more adept, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling various floor types. Look for models that let you choose from multiple modes, use their charging dock to self-empty and clean up stairs.
Many of the
Best robot vacuum cleaner UK models are compatible with smartphones. Find an app that lets you save maps, create schedules and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
When I tested the S1, it was able to locate our downstairs, which is home to laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, along with medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross raised thresholds without issue. However it was a bit difficult getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 did a good job
cleaning robot mop and vacuum hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and swung up when it came to carpets or rugs.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station on the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will vary depending on the frequency you use the mop.
The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to keep it from becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them getting clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option for your cleaning needs. The robot vacuum is rated at 8700Pa of suction and comes with many innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans around furniture. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than simply dragging a pad across the surface. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station when needed.
The
robot vacuum cleaner comes with an easy interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot is unable to reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically emptied or filled. It also comes with a variety of useful settings for fine-tuning your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that easily picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it is sometimes hung up on the small rug or area mats I have in my house (which is something you can reduce by defining a virtual boundary within the application). Mopping capabilities are quite good, with a pair spinning mop pads that are able to lift and scrub floors, rather than just dragging the pad across it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing large and small particles from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other dirt. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically moves out to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and a mop pad that extends along baseboards.
Its navigation is intelligent, navigating tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without stepping back. It can move from one room to another without changing direction it is a useful feature for larger homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than that of some competitors, and leaves a huge margin around obstacles. This could lead to missed spots.
The interface of the app is simple and streamlined. It should be simple to use by both novice and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleaning tasks. You can also adjust the suction power, mop settings, and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be controlled via the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri and allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll require a reliable internet connection to access the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
Robot vacuums are fantastic at picking up dirt and debris but they aren't able to reach all dust. It is important to clean often, at least once a week. This is especially true for
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mop, is made to do just that. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network, and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your daily cleaning routine.
The Q5 is an unadorned version of the company's more expensive S-series models, which include the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it is cheaper because it doesn't have mopping capabilities and comes with a plastic body.
Although it's no longer able to wipe your floors, the Q5 still has some of the best vacuum and mopping performance we've seen from a robot in this price range. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system, so you don't have to manually empty the bin every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you set your floor's type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
The mops also stand out with their 2700Pa capacity to tackle dirt and pet hair on carpets as well as hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have problems with carpets with high piles or area rugs, but it couldn't pick up kitty litter or cable tangles that's not a surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robot vacuums we have tested. It also utilizes a unique system to map your home, which really helps it get into places that other vacuums can't reach. This device also has the larger bin, meaning that you don't have to empty it as frequently. It also has washable filters, which further reduces costs. The robot is also able to detect carpets and increase suction when needed. You can also mark areas you would like to be able to keep from using the app.
