BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or installing a new lock to bypass the security system.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, doesn't require cutting OEM wires or add keys or alarms that are made by an aftermarket company. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and programmed with a secure, unique PIN code that is accessible through buttons in your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that are not available in the normal media menus. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 digits and is therefore difficult for thieves to figure out or break.

You can activate this by pressing the service button 5 times on your infotainment device (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Ghost created this subtle, unobtrusive device to combat the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It's designed to stop thieves from putting in a key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to create a unique push-sequence that must be entered before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack feature and, once activated any attempt to start the engine will be immediately blocked. When the system determines that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it fails to find the correct code it will also stop the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to be temporarily started without entering a PIN.

If you own a GPS device that is connected to your BMW it is possible to use it to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car whilst the vehicle is parked and not being watched. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

The system lets you start the vehicle by selecting drive and then leave the service mode without using your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real-time on a map on your smartphone, ideal to track your car while on the move.
