The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base comes with a few control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic hoovers vacuums, utilizes its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets caught in a hazard, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market that is dominated by bulky boxy models.
